I wonder....

Past few days has been a serious roller coaster ride! It was crazy as we were frantic on our deadlines for submitting our upcoming collection till June 2013. Yeah, we work ahead of times and phew! I finished it and sample production are on standby mode. Just when I thought I can take a while to relax and have a cuppa hot chocolate to ease my angry stomach (screaming FEED ME!) I remembered that I have not blogged for a while. I know, some of you girls miss chatting up with me and ME TOO! But because I am too busy and seldom in shop, I have to update via this blog instead...

Well, instead of updating you girls on my recent updates which is none other than work work work work work, I would like to use this blog post to ask you girlies a few questions. Before I do so, take a look at this picture that I have consolidated.

*images are from google search and mostly they are famous bloggers

You know, I am so inspired by the plus size fashion trend out of Asia and I love their guts to carry their outfits with style and rock in each and every outfit! Dont you think they look fab?? Well, I always wonder;

Will you ever be spotted in such outfits? If so, how? If no, Why not?

For the past 5 years into this business, I realise that most of us still want to slip into the 'ALL black phase' but but but, dont you feel inspired when you see how beautiful they look in colours? If you notice, they are also pretty modest in their dress! no flashy bits and yet still rocking it no? Do you think you will feel better when you feel better? I have seen a major shift in dressing myself recently as well and naturally it will affect my collections as I always design these pretty clothes with the itention of me being able to wear it nice and look good in it. But before I start to shift this direction, I would like to ask for your opinion.

Do you see youself changing your style to look like these beautiful women shown above? Or you are really comfy with the current style you have?

Tell us!

Love

Sincerest Apologies...

Hi ladies,

Recently KAYLENE annual sale has ended and the stocks are back to normal! It is a major shift as we try to change the whole shop with new goodies. The response was super duper fantastic and we were unable to produce any quicker as we need time to make samples and go into production. We already have addressed the issues and yes! MORE yummy items will be up before you even know it! In case you girls want to know whats up next, it will be bottoms somewhere next week and dresses in end March and beautful tops in 2nd week of April!!!

These few days I have been really busy even though I am not in the shop. I am in the midst of preparing my flights to USA, Hong Kong and Thailand for our stocks and anything related to KAYLENE for 2013 and I am overwhelmed. The load is unbearable as I have to oversee, KAYLENE current and upcoming designs, The Plus Mannequins upcoming collection and a project that is on its way... From the way I forecast, it will be a really tight schedule to spend some time with you girls at the shop. I am really very apologetic that I cannot meet you girls and have our girly chats. But I really hope you girls can be patient wirh me, and hopefully we can meet up in shop! just give me a while more, finish up the necessary and I will be back in action (in shop) soonest!

I do have exciting info to tell you girls but let me firm up some details and I will definitely share with you girls sometime in April?

For now, please accept my apologies and gratitude should I neglect you by accident, I have not forgotten about each and every one of you. Just that with all that is coming up, I need to channel all my attention to it and temporily drop ALL my daily duties in KAYLENE. Of course I have a superb helper Juliah who will be assisting each and every one of you for the requests and items you like. just call her at 67364314 during retail hours and she can always help you.

PLEASE be patient with me! I will see you girls soon and before you know it, we will be chatting again!!

Are you ready to add some colours into your closet in 2013?

Was looking at trends for 2013 a couple of days ago and found something really interesting!

The colour chart for spring 2013 did shock me a little. My oh My! We have been spot on with the colour trends! I think we ought to give ourselves a good pat on our back for being able to sniff out the colours as we have prepared February/March Collections with designs some of the colours!

Of course, we will continue to work harder to provide fashionable items and dresses for you girls and found out that we bingo another Spring's 2013 must haves! Chambray is a lovely material that is extremely comfy for our climate and looks chic because it looks like demin minus the stiffness of it. Whee! we are soooo happy over the next few collections (one is ready and will launch in mid March), we will be seeing chambray into our collection! Thumbs up!

I must say KAYLENE is always trying her best to keep up with the fashion and makes sure that while we follour upcoming trends in colours and fabric, we are also very particular about the designs of the dresses, making them suit plus size girls!
Okay, before I go, I wanna show you sneaks of our upcoming designs for march... Are you ready? Here goes!  We cant show you all!!! Hee~ just 2 for now ya?

I am so happi~~

Sometimes, all I need is a msg from a customer and compliments KAYLENE's clothing and and we managed to change their lives by making them feel more beautiful through clothing and see the confidence in us. I am deeply touched by how their comments and can feel that the comments they made are from the bottom of their hearts and to have them express it out into words to our ears are truly genuine. Yes, KAYLENE is a business with profits in each purchase. BUT this business is definitely a business with integrity and honesty in every possible way. Why so? Because from the designing stage, to fabric selection, to sample making to final product has been carefully planned and discussed, specially chosen (fabrics and buttons) and each item made is made to the highest standard we can offer. Of course we do have hiccups and minor errors along the way, but we never hesitate to have items exchanged should there be any fault from our side. I am very proud that KAYLENE has grown tremendously in this area and the good news is that, we will continue to grow in this area.

What struck me into writing this post despite fatigue and the obvious signs tiredness from the signs of eyebags due to lack of sleep is because recently, alot of customers has been sending me texts, telling me in person, putting in FB pages to express their gratitude and thanks for our services and products. i know it sounds showy but i think I ought to return love to the girls who has openly expressed their love and gratitude towards us...

One posted in my FB and mentioned that she feels very welcome whenever she steps into KAYLENE, one simply sent me a text 'Thank you for providing a wonderful selection of clothes for CNY' One thanked me for making her mum and herself beautiful for CNY this year, one told me that she is very inspired by us and she can always go to a shop that she can frequent, one told me that because of KAYLENE, she can face the world with confidence, One told me that she never feel pressured and stress whenever she is in shop, one told me that we serve with heart and not by the $$ in mind, one told me that she finally start to wear colours and received loads of compliment, one told me that her japanese collegues walked up to her and complimented that her dress is very pretty, one told me that she is very appreciative that we have proper shoots and has a model for her to understand how a simple outfit can be dressed ina stylish way... the list really goes on....

Yes~ I am very proud to say that we are definitely different from other boutiques because we stay very focused in what we do. Yes we may be small but we are certainly very determined to be very focused in our work.In year 2013, really exciting things are going to happen. We cant reveal as we do not want to disappoint you girls. Many of you were with us since 2007 and many of you, you and you have become friends. We are really grateful for your support and love. We hope to have more friends forged through KAYLENE and yes, we will continue to work harder by the day simply we because we want to return the love showered upon us from each and every one of you....

GOOD night ladies, have a sweet dream tonight.

random post...

Sometimes I think I am mad, I overthink too much, at the slightest issues and fuss over it for a looooong time. I start to doubt myself, my personality and KAYLENE (if the issue is related to the shop) and I start to feel all 'buggy' and emo. I start to think of the past and told myself, 'Kayde is different now, she is strong, she is confident and most of all she is 100% (100% of what? you fill the gap yourself :)) And I start to feel proud and before you know it, I start to get my butt up and gets ready to face the world...

Most of the time, I am the luckiest girl in the world. Obstacles come and I hop over with confidence and proper solutions to resolve. Sometimes, I am not, I get all sensitive, stress and worked up and still have to face customers with a nice big smile despite the 'bugs' crawling all over in my head... but God has been wonderful to me, he plants little voices in me, whispers and guide me to solve each and every hurdle. He also sent human form angels like Mr Ling, Shu n Pris, and many more to guide me into solving each issues.

How lucky I am you may think... But I bet you have someone like those mentioned too... but could it be possible that you have neglected these angels around you and slipped off your mind?

This post is really random and I deliberately did this blog post for myself. A reminder to myself that I am very loved and is indeed in good hands. What about you? Are you in good hands? Think you are not? Are you really sure that there is really no one you can look for comfort/advice?

Go on, take some time and think of the angels surrounding you in which you may have unknowingly missed.

Good night girlies! Long days ahead with peak season and tons of enquiries to reply before I can rest and hop onto the plane and relax. I am truly a blessed child I must say!

Donations to Lee Ah Mooi Home

What a beautiful Sunday! Just got home a couple of hours ago from the visit to Lee Ah Mooi home for the Elders. This trip was really an eye opener for me and I got to share with you my experience at the home...

In case you are still wondering,
in the month of December, I was asking the customers in Facebook on how we should celebrate KAYLENE's 5th birthday. After a few response and a spent some quiet time alone, I discussed with Mr Ling that I really wanna do something very meaningful for KAYLENE's 5th birthday. I told him about a little voice bugging me to do donations and he thought it was a good idea. His immediate response was to write a cheque and viola, mail to any home I was planning to give. But deep down, I knew it was not the direction I was 'told to do'. My little voice urged me to get out of the comfort zone and food donation was the task and not just giving money. Mr Ling heard about my plans and we started to do research on homes and what we could possible do for them. I did a few search and thought that Lee Ah Mooi was the best option for this donation. I wish I could do more and donate more to maybe a couple more homes, but I do have limitations as i do not have a car. Hence I decided to stay focus and stick to one home and thus being able to give more to them.

I called up to the home and Mark, the person in charge told me exactly what to prepare. They want practical food items like ginger, garlic, etc... Seriously, I had no idea how much to prepare. Then I found out that there are approx 115 people staying in the home and all meals are cooked in the home. From that guage, we prepared a rough estimation of 100kg worth of dried goods and 48kg of frozen chicken! PHEW!! Thats quite a bit of things to prepare!! Thank god for my father in law and his contacts, he managed to get really good deals and freshest of the lot and before you know it, we were off to visit the home. Mr Ling did great too! He did a few calls before getting a confirmed delivery to our home for the chicken at 5am! Superb!

When we reach the home, the very nice Mr Mark came to us and showed us the home a little. I also explained to him about the reason behind this food donation and he praised our customers for having so much love and compassion. Wow! KAYLENE customers, you did GREAT!
(please click on the picture to see your name inside!!)

After speaking to him, I felt even more moved and proud of ourselves as we indeed did contribute to this home. Mark told me (eventually) that Lee Ah Mooi is his mother and told us The Lee Ah Mooi home was set up in the mid 1960s by late Madam Lee Ah Mooi. She sacrificed 2 rooms in her house (Teck Whye kampung) to take in the old folks and looked after them. However, neighbours disliked the idea as the old folks were causing disturbance to them and they were forced to move. Then they found a bungalow at Sembawang but again, the number of accommodation was limited. Finally they moved to Thomson Road, their current location.

I was deeply touched. Period. I knew that what we did for KAYLENE's birthday was right and from this experience, I told myself that in any possible way in future, I must do more of such meaningful events to help these people. Give back to the society in any possible ways. Before we left, Mark did mention that he was very happy to see green beans as he knew what to prepare for the old folks in a couple of days. He also told us that he constantly needs to cook for them. Whee! now we know what to prepare the next round when we visit them again!

Okay now! Go on girlies! show to your friends in facebook! Tell them that you were part of this meaningful event! Find your name and show them!

We thank you ALL for supporting this wonderful cause!

Love
