Lets talk about hair... STRAIGHT long mane
While flipping through a E-magazine, I got inspired on writing about hair... Well there are a couple of customers who ask me on how I maintain my hair and how to take care of it. They often ask me how much I spend on my hair. Seriously babe... its not that difficult. But before I tell you how I do the basic regime, I must tell you I used to be... 'lost in my own mane' ...
I really didnt know how to take care of my hair. I used to have pretty healthy hair, until the world of hair dyes came into my 'dictionary' and started exploring hair dyes right after I graduated in sec 4. Mind you ladies, when you are young and has only $15.00 in your pockets, your main aim is to get the BRIGHTEST hair colours using the CHEAPEST method. Hence I used the bleaching agent bought in pharmacies.. 6 percent, 9 percent bleach... familiar girls? oh yeah... I have been through that phase! Before you know it, I really didnt know how to take care of my locks. The next you know as times goes by and maybe body changing as well, it became greasy and my hair always look flat. My sister always chided me on why I do not take care of my hair and my overall being. Well, my theory was like most of you... 'So ugly and fat, why bother?' I really didn't know how to take care. I look 'greasy' and tired all the time. Now, admit it, I am sure at least ONE of you reading this will have similar situation. Unfortunately for us, Singapore is a humid climate and by end of the day, the hair gets flat and boy, its awful!!! Whenever I travel to countries with low humidity, I always tell Mr Ling how much I love my hair there.. bouncy and beautiful. But hey hey, we cannot change the climate and the place we live, why not change our little regime to make it work? It's really simple ladies... heres how.

If you notice in the picture, I have a hair dryer, a brush, shampoo, hair serum, and a couple more 'ka-changs'. They are must haves to make sure you have nice and smooth hair. For now, because my hair is straight, the topic is only for the ladies who has straight hair. For the curly hair ladies... sincere apologies! I will try to do a few research before I write about those beautiful curly locks.
Okay, so heres what you need to do. I know some of them sounds silly but you will be amazed at how some customers are clueless even to the most basic steps. I just want to share my little 'know-how' so that I can see more and more beautiful and confident plus size girls out in the streets looking yummilicious! I am not challanging anyone here on Kayde knows best. I am merely sharing... Okay back to the topic... Heres what you need to do
1) WASH your hair daily! Especially for the oily scalp girls, Its important to wash it daily to remove the excess oil on your hair.
2) VISIT a good hair salon and ask them for advice on what type of hair you have and what kind of hair products you should use. What I usually do is that I will ask all the questions about my hair and then hear what they recommend. Then I will google and read up on forums on where sells this product cheaper. I do visit those neighbourhood shops like Venus to ask more on hair products
3) BUY a good shampoo! Oh admit it! You can buy $800 on the bag, why not spend $50 on a good shampoo? Dont get me wrong! I do not use all expensive shampoos everyday. I cannot afford it! So what do I do? I alternate! One day a good one (and you will be amazed that a good shampoo just need approx 2 50cents coins dollops and not three four pumps) and the other I use the regular ones I buy in supermarkets. **do note, this is just my way of saving money. i am sure the hair stylists will not agree to this!)
4) BUY a good hair brush and hairdryer. Okay, that brush you see there, costs me approx $30 but I thought it was well spent. This brush is specially designed to volume up my hair and it works for me. My girlfriends tried it and they thought it works. The idea is to think of creating a mini salon in your own home. I bet you girls dont know that a scissors in a hair salon can cost $800 - $1500 per pair and a hairdryer can be as expensive as $500! Now we know why we can never achieve that beautiful look at home? Because in the first place, our equipments are wrong! Its not that difficult girls, go to SASA or some beauty shop. Ask around and check which kind of comb works well especially if you are going to do the next step..
5) BLOW DRY your hair. Before I found this regime, I always have messy hair and I look super awful. No matter how I comb my hair, strands will pop out and I look tired and 'lazy'. Then my girlfriend taught me how to blow my hair. Its so simple! First, you bend forward and flip your hair down. Blow the inner parts of the head and around the crown. (crown is where Grecian Goddess puts the leaves halo-like thing) Then flip it back and stand straight. With hairdryer facing your ears, tilt the hot air vent downwards 45 degrees. The from top, let the hot air blow down and move your dryer down to the tip. I didnt know this step and I was blowing my hair the wrong way. I tilted the hairdryer upwards instead. You can guess how the final outlook will become.. haha
6) Put on serum ONLY AT THE TIP of the hair. This is easy, buy any type of serum (I do use sunsilk quite often) Thats all! For that Argen hair serum you saw there.. it was FREE from the hair salon.. so hey why not! USE IT!
After you complete this, you will realise you hair is straighter, neater, has a nice sheen/gloss from the serum.
I sincerely hope you girls will try this simple regime and see if it works... It certainly works for me! Now its your turn to try it! :) good luck!
Try it! Any tips can share and tell us!
Love
K
