KAYLENE: Fun Fun Fly Away! Collection is OUT NOW

Inspiration for this collection...

She packs her bag lightly, taking items that are essential, 

took a straw hat and lugged a camera,

She had it, she had enough! 

She couldnt take the stress that weighed a ton!

"Let it go! Take a step back and see the world!"

These were the words she kept in her head

She found herself in a beautiful quaint city,

Where people are very nice and a little tad silly

She donned herself in the items she carefully chose,

'Boy, what a wise choice that I took!'

Colours and prints, simple and sweet,

The items she brought are so easy to wear!

This beautiful girl enjoyed herself and went back home,

Told herself that there's so much more places to be unfold!

She will pack her bag again, simple and light

With pretty essentials that is within her sight!

When preparing this series of beauties for this collection, we focused on how successful the previous month did and that was comfortable items and yet stylish. We kept the designs simple and redid some super popular designs but we focused alot of the quality material mainly sourced from Korea and Japan. The end result was fabulous and positive and many girls have popped by to the shop to purchase them. 

We are extremely grateful and blessed that the response for this collection is very good and we cannot wait to show you girls more! Here are some of the images for this collection. Have loads of fun viewing them! 

Pink FAT Lady

 I am Kayde Yeo and I own 2 plus size indie brands in Singapore.

If you have been sensitive to the plus size industry in local newspaper, you will probably have read about a lady being termed as 'Pink fat lady' when she ordered a pizza take-away. If you would like to read more about the article, you can read it here.

Now, I am not going to be angry and write about how sensitive this waiter was when taking Miss A's order. I spoke to Mr Ling about this incident and we both agreed that as much as we agree the staff was wrong in not sparing a thought on how Miss A could have felt, and how they could have handled it better, we ended up talking about something which I think is more important related to this incident. 

I personally know Miss A from years back and I must say that IF THIS had happened to her 4 years ago, she will probably be very hurt and upset and maybe couldnt even bring herself to face the world. Back then, she was a very shy girl, lack of confidence and had I believe had a considerable amount of low self-esteem in her. But today, she is different. She has grown so much, so beautiful, so confident and so loving with such a big heart. She was blessed for she had surrounded herself with many many positive like-minded people and people who genuinely cared and loved her. She has so much love in her that she constantly takes part in meaningful activities related to the community and grassroots. 

Now in the Straits Times article, as a plus size girl and one of the leader in this plus size community in Singapore, I was glad that Pizza Hut took responsibility of this incident and apologised to Miss A. I was very happy to know that the incident ended with a lovely peaceful mode and did not cause extra stir. But what welled tears in my eyes and felt so proud of Miss A was her big heart towards this incident and how well she handled it. She handled it with class and grace and this is how most plus size girls are like. To me, the article is extremely important to the public that WE AS PLUS SIZE GIRLS have big heart and loads of love to give back. We have grace and tons of patience and humble to address this issue.

I particularly love the comment on how she "appreciate Pizza Hut's effort in addressing this matter and handling it in its best possible way they can" The comment was real and honest, filled with love and straight to the point.

I applaud Pizza Hut for stepping up and addressing this issue like a responsible company and not brushed off complaints (I have seen way too many complaints being brushed aside because they think it is 'silly') 

I  also appalud Straints' Times for writing an article that was not twisted and exaggerated and made Miss A sound like a demanding person. I know Miss A in person and I can vouch for her character. 

Last but not least, I would like to specially thank Miss A for being such a trail blazer and being such a good representative to us plus size girls. You make us proud by showing how we plus size girls truly are. We are very loving people with big big hearts. I applaud you for being so brave when facing media which I believe came to shock to you. 

Thank you Miss A for standing up for the rest of us with grace and elegance.
