Which type of 'Fats' you belong to?

Take some time to read this girls... Find this super interesting...

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/bethany-rutter/plus-size-women-clothing-style_b_2169924.html

Interesting enough, a few customers and friends have been discussing on this topic for the past week. The topic on why customers dont wanna spend some time for themselves by trying on new clothes and investing in a few good classic pieces. The topic can be quite intense actually and I must say We always end up with a BIG sigh. I think its no coincidence that I happen to read this article (Thank God for giving me this post to read) because this topic has been hovering my mind for so long till my head is 'badly blocked' as claimed by my therapist (yeah, i have been visitng a therapist, tell you more next time)

Now, go on, take some time to read the link shown above and read on on my thoughts...

I must say I really feel for the conservative fats as mentioned. Well, in my context, I read it the other way and I would like to add on to the post written. If you ask me and as discussed with a fellow friend, the reason they fall under this category is because somehow they already gave up on themselves. They want to be 'ghost', to blend into the surrounding and do not wish to be noticed. Slowly over time, they ARE really not noticed and soon, they give up on themselves and starts to give up on looking good.

I must add that LOOKING good is not about being a fashionista. It is about being presentable and your presence must be felt. Imagine this, how do you expect to get promoted if your boss dont see you? How do you get a boyfriend if you are not dressed nicely for the ideal man to notice you from afar? How do you get respect by interviewers when you try to apply for a job? How do you expect people to talk to you with respect when you dont even respect yourself in the first place? I really think its sad that there you are blaming yourself on your 'sad or 'unfortunate' life, there are actually ways and things you can do to overcome all these obstacles. And which is why we have launched The Plus Mannequin to cater for these girls. The line of apparels there are safer and at competitive pricing. I am very happy that we made this decision to launch The Plus Mannequin as more customers are emailing me and tell me that their lives has been changed ever since they have known us. They are now able to purchase beautiful clothings in decent quality at a very safe environment.

Someone out there will BOUND to argue with me that I am lucky, I have a husband who loves me for who I am, I have a apparel business which allows me to dress up well. Eh eh, no love, before I start KAYLENE, I was working and earning 1.4k before CPF deduction and my allowance to my mum was $500. You do your own maths and tell me if using 'not earning enough' was a good reason to look neat and presentable. And no, I do not buy cute little things and I do not spend money on titbits and comics. I merely save up to own each piece that I can afford then... I am not trying to spark any outrage here or continue the debate. I am trying my very best to tell you that I want all of you to understand that each of you deserves to be noticed and respected. BUT how can you achieve these if you do not first do something to yourself?

Now, to the 'radical fats' category. As much as I do not agree with these girls, I must say I TOTALLY RESPECT them. At least they are doing something for themselves and making themselves happy. They are genuinely happy to be dressing this way :) Trust me, people who fall under this category are mostly girls who has alot of self love, and confidence. And I truly admire them. But of course there are some thin line which you may over step. Wearing way to short skirts or show VBO too much is not really my cup to tea. BUT again, I respect these girls for their confidence and courage and their decision to be noticed and heard.

As for me and proud to say KAYLENE customers, we are ALL a moderate fat. We truly understand fashion BUT nice on our body and we knows ways to 'cheat' on our visual weight. The customers also know that they uniqueness of each design brought into KAYLENE and they understands the need to look good yet not clash with the masses. KAYLENE has definitely come a long way, we were from Bugis Street and now where we are, we definitely has progressed and grown alot. Many customers who know us 5 years ago still patronise us and understood the importance of owning classic pieces that are timeless and of excellent quality.

So now you know, we do cater for the conservative and moderate fats. We do all these simply because we truly love you and understand what you are going through as a plus size girl. I hope to bring in more outrageous designs for the radical fats (trust me, they still look good, think avant garde designs, not trashy)

And now I end and leave my question to you, "which fats category do you belong to?" Tell us and let me improve to serve you better!

Plus Size Shoes.. Buckle up Please!

Hey Girlies, great Tuesday isnt it? Last Sunday I went to Scape to visit my cousin-in-laws new booth and while shopping there I found something cute! Shoes that has detachable buckles for us to change the designs! Comfort was so so ( Mr Ling said I am wasting money... nah~~ too cute eh!) but the idea was fantastic! Now I wanna check and really need your comments here... Will you girls like such design or was it just me being way too crazy? Better still, in PLUS SIZE! Tell us! We need your comments! (you can post it in FB there or here, its okay!)

On the other hand, am busy preparing the CNY goodies. Was really upset last week on some business related 'noise' but then Mr Ling told me that moving on and showing the girls what you have and good at is more important than anything else. Designs came up by me two years back and people are still selling it clearly shows that I am good and thus the remake after so long. Blah~~ these are 'noise'

Have a fabulous Tuesday PEOPLE!

(Mr Ling deliberately posed this way... dont ask me why!)

The NEED of having a shaper!!

Before you girls start to think I am selling my own products, I must clarify myself. Recently I am a little annoyed at some feedbacks I hear. Some girls are generally depressed with their overall image and they actually show their unpleasant-ness from the face down to the attire they wear. They end up wearing loose clothes to hide the jiggly muffins. I get very upset because I felt that we actually have ways to conceal these unslightly bulging fats (have to be crude here so that you will know what i am talking about) BUT the girls seems to run away from it and decided to hide by wearing black and worse BAGGY outfits that totally do not suit them. There are too many things to zoom into and discuss but today I shall talk about shapers. LISTEN UP girls, even UK10-12 girls ought to own one too. Doesnt mean that this only apply to plus size girls...

Look at the pictures below. Notice how much difference on the before and after wearing a shaper? Many says that shapers are uncomfortable. Yes only if you keep reminding yourself that it is uncomfy. I did a read up before and found out that our skin is one of our senses (if you forget.. its TOUCH) and when you put on a shaper for the first time, you are actually sending shocks to your body. However, after you tried on the shaper, remove it and try it again, you will realise how much more comfy it is than before and how much easier to put it on than before. Why so? Because your sense of touch is aware of this 'shock' and is ready and more accomdating to put on the shaper.

Seriously, what is so difficult in giving shapers a try to make your body look nicer? (-_-) Do note that a shaper is not a miracle outfit. IT DOES not make you a size UK20 to immediately a UK12. It can, however, make you look 1-2 size smaller if you wear the proper shaper.

So girls, I strongly encourage you to each own a shaper that fits well, comfortable and ultimately gives you a wonderful shape. when you pose for the pictures at a special event, you will be surprised by the ''new' shape you can possible achieve by simply putting on a shaper. As the fashion stylists always say every girl should own a Little Black Dress, I personally think every girls should own a shaper FIRST before owning that desired LBD.

Have a great week ahead!

Guess what Mr Ling sent me!

Olla! Received a link from Mr Ling and thought I should share this with you girls...

http://www.lifehack.org/articles/lifestyle/7-makeup-techniques-to-make-you-look-slim.html

Now, let me just add on a few more of my opinion for this 7 tips... I think this article is very well written! I think its super easy to follow and yes! we can look slimmer too!!!

Makeup can be a powerful tool in helping you look slim. Just look at any celebrity. Most do not look like they do on their own. Their makeup and hair really change how their faces look and draw attention to their best features. You can use some of the same tricks to make your face appear thinner. Try some of the following techniques next time you apply makeup and watch the magic happen.

Makeup techniques help you look slim

I. Choose the right brow shape
Your brows can actually play a big part in how slim or heavy your face looks. Your eyebrows should be substantial, but not thick, and have a defined arch in the middle. Arched brows help lift the face and make your face look slimmer. Color in your brows with a shade of makeup slightly darker than your natural brow to help them stand out.

K: I must admit, I am not a brow person. But I have actually witness customers who will go bleach or dye their brows to make them look more define. Times like this, please go to a professional. try Browhaus and ask them for advice. you will be surprised how refresh you look after you trim and shape those brows and even colour them!

II. Cover eye circles
Eye circles can have a weighty effect on how you look. Cover under eye circles with concealer to hide them and blend your eyelids into the rest of your face. You can also add a white eye shadow or highlighter to the outside and inside corners of your eyes to help them stand out. When your eyes stand out in a good way, rather than stand out because of dark circles, your face automatically looks slimmer.

K: Oh yeah, this I totally endorse! this is very important! Believe it or not, I was once famous for not having dark eye circles when I was alot younger. But alas! This compliment did not last long as I started working and late nights as well as facing computer all the time somehow make my dark circles appear. I tried putting on makeup without applying concealor on my dark circles but the results is upsetting. Just go to any regular reliable makeup retailor and ask them for a concealor. and SEE the DIFFERENCE instantly!

III. Experiment with blush placement
Most people should use a blush with a slight brown undertone for best results. Blushes with red undertones can actually make the face look heavier than it is. Apply your blush just under the cheekbone and sweep it from bone to the middle of each ear. Apply lightly, to avoid looking like a clown.

K: The idea of putting on blusher is to make sure your face has a nice 3D effect and not flat like a pancake. Putting on blusher must be subtle yet visable to give this nice healthy glow on your cheeks.

IV. Play up eyes
The more you play up your eyes, the slimmer your face will look. It is true, that when the eye is distracted by beautiful eyes, it does not pay attention to body issues. Use eyeliner and mascara that make your eyes appear larger, and use eye shadow that works well with your skin tone and eye color. Blue eyes look great with gold or pink shadows. Green eyes stand out with copper or plum shades. Brown eyes pop with blue, teal, and purple.

K: oh yeah, many of you should know by now that not only I have a pair of super tiny eyes, I also have PUFFY ones. HUMPH! so I deal with it by spending more time with my eye makeup. I usually put a eye primer as base, go over with a light shade eyeshadow as a proper base. Then I will put on liquid or gel/pot eyeliner to define my eyes first. After that then I will put on my dark brown or black eyeshadow to make my eyes look bigger. Then, falsies up to make my eyes look bigger and more 'alert' and lastly end it with appylying eyeliner at my lower eyelids. I do go to youtube.com to check out on makeup tips. For my eyes, I did a search on 'mono eyelids makeup tips"

V. Apply bronzer correctly
One trick to using makeup to look slimmer is to use bronzer correctly to lift weight off of your face. Apply a light layer of bronzer on the jaw line to slightly darken the area. Blend the bronzer into your makeup so you do not look like you are growing a beard. Apply a slightly darker layer of bronzer under your jaw. This will draw the eye away from any weight that you carry under the neck and can actually help you look about 10 pounds lighter.

VI. Try highlighter
Add a touch of light highlighter to the tops of your cheek bones, the center of your nose, and your forehead. This will help elongate the face and make your entire body look lifted and lighter.

K: For this 2 mentioned above, its what we call it as contouring. It is definitely a skill to master BUT it is definitely the most effective tips amongs the rest to make your face look slimmer. I do get lazy at times but I will definitely spend more time on contouring when I have a special event to attend to. You will be amazed on how beautiful you will look in photos!

VII. Pink lips
Dark lips can actually cause you to look heavier. A light pink lip is one of the best colors for making a face look light and lips look full. Nude colors tend to make the lips look thin. A pink lip color that works with your skin tone is one of the best makeup tools you can have to help you look slim

K: I havent really try this yet and I am definitely going to try this tomorrow!

If you follow all of these steps, you will create a makeup routine that will leave you feeling confident, slim, and beautiful. In just a few minutes, you can go from looking blah to fabulous with just a few sweeps of a makeup brush.

So girls, STOP hiding your beautiful face and use your hair to cover those beautiful feature! You deserved to be noticed too! So try these! Be amazed by this 7 simple steps!

**Thank you Mr Ling for sending this tips to me. BTW, you are not hinting to me that I am not doing enough to make my face looks prettier and slimmer right? Kidding! I know you want me to share this article with the rest of our customers!

Love
