WHAT Kayde Did Over The Weekend...

Wow, Time flies! Its a Tuesday now! And June is ending soon.. TOO fast! I havent have enough fun for June yet! Dang!... Oh well, I guess its a reminder for myself to speed up my pace for my year end collection.. -_-. Well, I shall update you girls what I have been up to over the weekend :)

Friday was okay. Except an email from my supplier that the in house designs have a serious hiccup as the fabric we chose for KAYLENE's September collection are ALL sold out. Oh man.. Serious BOO HOO for us. Told me that they will find a substitute soonest and update me. I mean, I am so excited to seeing the actual pieces you know! We love them so much and crappy things happened. Oh well, Spoke to them and liase to and fro, managed to come to some sort of a way to 'save the situation' Hong Kong side called as well, asked me to prepare going over as they prepared special items for KAYLENE. I wish to go sooner too! BUT too many things on hand now, a little tough to go over just like that. USA side is slightly better, processing my order and waiting for some info from me and ready to ship to this tiny island! Our shapers are on its way too!! YEAH! but of course because we are very picky, we only ordered a few for trials. Planning to send some to customers and give us feedbacks on the shapers. Estimated time of arrival should be in mid July.... I got so stress and irritated with the weather on Friday and decided to go for a swim... I need to hear the sound of water gushing while I swim, seriously.. I think its very theraputic for me. Before I head out, I prepare soup for Mr Ling... Old cumcumber soup with pork ribs, supposed to be good for such horrid weather!

(its really simple to make, anyone wants receipe from me can msg me.. haha when has Kayde become a chef?)

I had to bring a book to the pool and read, after the fried session at home... and I finally got a chance to read a book that Mr Ling so kind to order from the UK ( dont ask me why he has to order from so far, I just told him I would like the book and he ordered.. SWEET babe)

Nope girls, you didnt see wrong, I ordered a book on BRAS! I needed to know more about bras and how to wear the right fit etc as theres a possibility of launching bras soon. Well, tons of homework is needed before we launch that! 

I swam about 6 laps and thought that I had enough... I wasnt tired, I got bored actually and hence started to read a little on the cute pink book...on BRAS! oh side note, it was super funny to see some guy swimmers gush in embaressment as the book cover was loud and clear; that I was reading books on BRAS. oh well, I couldnt care, I only know it was really good to read under a shaded area with the wind blowing...

Saturday was really funny. My girlfriend asked me out for lunch 'before she goes away' so I decided to have lunch with her. The good thing about having a car is that you literally can go all places. The only problem is finding a carpark lot. We were lucky actually! Went for a quick SUPER yummy duck noodles at Mei Ling Street, we headed to this cool place. Seems like Tiong Bahru is an up and coming place to chill eh? We ended up having our tea at Drips...

The day ended really quick!Days pass super fast... Monday I decided to CHOP off my hair! Was glad that I cleanned up my messy hair after Sis nagged about my sloppy hair and how i need to get it fixed because I represent KAYLENE... the next thing you know, its TUESDAY....
And heres a pic of what I work to work today. :) I wanted to wear something light because its super warm and I needed to pack some stocks.

SIT and STAND! in a graceful way please

Recently I went out with Mr Ling and saw a plus size girl lifting her long skirt to her mid calf and OPENED her legs so wide while she was waiting for her food. I WAS DUMBFOUNDED. Mr Ling saw it too and walked away embaressed. I dare say its aprox 120 degrees WIDE. What was she thinking man! I was upset but brushed it off until.....

Today on a train I witness something bad too! HAIYO! I really cannot take it, seriously disturbed by it and decided that I NEED TO BLOG about this. Seriously I was very hesitant on doing this because I am literally making myself 'ugly' by posting the following pictures. But what can I do? As any random girl and post for me? No right? Hence, after much consideration, I decided to take all these shots in my storage area and show you girls....

let me show you some 'common' sitting posture...

 Seriously girl! I WAS SO embaressed till I had to 'mosaic' my pictures. This is awful! but yes, these are what we see most commonly on trains! I dont deny, I do slack sometimes but I am very quick to regain my proper posture as I constantly remind myself tt I represent KAYLENE and I must look good and presentable. Now the 1st two sitting posture... DONT LAUGH... r you sure that you are not part of the 'list' of ple guilty of sitting like this? The 3rd is STILL ok but then again theres this 'secret cave' in between the legs and sometimes can cause some attention unknowingly. Human are curious by nature, they may subconsciously be looking 'there' in hope that you will be able to give them a peekaboo.

Isnt it awful too? I dont know how you feel about this but I personally dont like this look as well...

To me, bags when sitting down is my best friend! They cover our 'secret cave' well BUT only if ou know how to do it right... Let me show you...

For the 1st sitting positio, what I suggest it that you put your one leg behind the other leg. WHY? Cos plus size girls can'tt cross their legs without looking nice! Also note that I have casually placed my hands in the centre to cover up the 'secret cave'? For 2nd and 3rd pose, you notice how I deliberately shift the bag forward to my knees? Because this way I am pretty sure that the bag can cover my 'secret cave' well and I get to be confortable.

Try it girls! I really hope I can educate you girls in any possible ways to be a pretty, confident and 'respected' plus size and even a style icon for someone to look up to. Now, now, go practice your sitting position! Oh before I end, a picture of suggested standing position when you are on train or waiting for your friend...

Consider putting one leg behind another. This way we will look slimmer and more elegant. Try it!

**disclaimer: I am also a human being after all. There are times where she will 'slack' and do weird stuff that is not 'KAYLENE' enough. I promised to try to practice what I preach as often as I can so that I can be someone whom you can look up to and not otherwise...

What a Tuesday.... BOO~~
1) Bought Simply Her and couldnt find out feature. Texted the stylist and mentioned tt the article will be pushed to August instead

2) Went for urine test and failed! Found blood in my pee because...

3) My 'best friend' came... AGAIN! Visited the gynae immediatly and going to be on meds for the next few days... STRESS level up? I dont know... I am so annoyed with this and cant do anything... then I thought of something

How many of you girls know or realise that owning business can be stressing and is a potential health hazard? The whole process from sourcing fabrics to design, to purchasing to chasing delivery and chasing samples... they are a handful! Maybe my friend is right, I am unknowingly under tremendous stress and hence my body is going haywire... I must be mentally prepared that this is going to be destined life...

oh well, enough of this crappy post, remember I said I must end the post in a positive note? :) oh yeah... now let me show you somehtiing tt send my spines tingling!! I went to library last week and borrowed a book on fashion designing, was flipping through and reading the contents I saw these 2 pictures...

Interesting isnt it? When I see this 2 pictures, I think of Kylie Minogue, Paris Hilton, something girly and flirty BUT modest enough as the same time :) what do you girls think?

DEAR GOD, I want Tuesday to be over ASAP and let me start my Wednesday beautifully! YEAH!

weekends are nice when....

you go out and enjoy couplehood! I love going out wth Mr Ling because its actually quite hard to have one. He works the usual 9-6pm job and mine as you girls know is irregular. Weekends seems good but tough when we have different commitments as well as doing things like housework, tagging clothes for upcoming batch etc. So yesterday we went out! We got up early went to Bedok, Tampines, Simei and Clementi before ending our day and headed home! Haha, sounds silly for me because why the heck I go to the East? I saw something in the East long time ago and I really wanted to get it. Also, with our rare 'free time' Mr Ling wanted to explore the East and really walk around and what he called 'understand Singapore better'

We went to library in Clementi and borrowed a book on fashion designing. KAPOW! So many ideas are flowing and yeah, I bet you will know for the next few days I will be thinking of new ideas for our upcoming collection :) oh, what a beautiful Sunday.... I wish I will have that more! :) Oh how can I forget? My girlfriend's wedding is coming and I offered to make her a Angpow box.... so here are the things I got....

hope the final box will look nice! But as you can see its October... So I still have time to fiddle with new stuff!

LOOK what i am going to receive tonight?




A super pretty artpiece ( i think is a notebook) from a customer! AWWWW so sweet of you! I must say, this little gift came super appropriately because I was under alot of stress recently. You wanna know what stress that is causing my face to break out, cant sleep, have weird dreams and even near argument with Mr Ling? Okay I tell you...

Never in my life, in my coming 5 years of business, have I received THAT much complaints. They were good feedbacks I think and I appreciate it, but being KAYDE I fuss over why I couldnt have done it better etc etc. YES, even assessing myself and asking very close and 'old' customers, I concluded that as long I have tried my best, I should not be upset and move on to improve on the complaints. OK... maybe not complaints. Feedbacks la, lets call it. Thus, I decided to list down ALL 'problems' and feedbacks that has been highlighted and will solve them in any possible ways.

One of the most common asked topic these days is that I am alot lesser in the shop and seems like they are not too happy about it. I have to explain this. As much as I would like to stay in shop, I need to get certain things done. Calls from suppliers, Whatsap of pictures of upcoming designs, USA emails (please note the time difference) and also designing KAYLENE's upcoming collection. We really take pride in doing designing our own apparels and its a very long process as every detail is important. How will you feel if I am constantly in the shop with the msg keep beeping and I kept touching my phone? You wont like it right do you? I also have to add that I do not have fashion designing background, hence my weakest point is my technical drawing and terms. Suppliers and factories wont really understand what I am talking about until I show them actual samples. imagine me scuffling around just to find the proper samples to show them? Oh well, I am still learning :) Back to the common question is that I hope you girls can understand that in order for KAYLENE to move forward, I need to step backward at shopfront. You can never understand the workload we have to go through because you will be thinking that what is so difficult on purchasing and order? Its not so easy when design comes in as part of job scope. We have plans to hire more staff to solve some issues BUT the KAYDE has to be in the shop is going to be difficult. I will still go to shop and work but lesser in a week. What I can do for you is that I plan to train my staff to be KAYDE and hopefully she will be up to your standards. :)

Okay! enough of the 'noise' Mr Ling calls it....

I must say and add that this lovely gift is not the only gift I have received over the years, I have received beautiful flowers and a cute bears and balloons in it, I have handmade gifts, I have this super cute 'Prosperity God', I have money tree (using crystals to make into a tree-like bonsai) I have handmade cards, I have this uber cute fabric flowers that can be twisted and the list goes on. I really am very happy and appreciate to receive them and treasure them :) Oh well, its a beautiful FRIDAY enjoy this wonderful weekend all of you!

PHEW! after fiddling with the new blogspot for SOOO long, I finally can post something here. Well, Blogger has changed alot huh? I guess changes is needed so that we can improve. Choose not to improve and then you get the kapoot.

The reason for creating a new blog instead of posting my post in KAYLENE fanpage because I would like to make this more personal, not so business-y and more importantly an outlet for me to download my thoughts and ideas. Past few days has been very stressing for me and I think I really need to plant my thoughts into some mode so that I can tell myself to move on. Kayde is KAYLENE is basically a blog that anything and everything that is happening to KAYLENE and myself.

I have always been a rather private person where I refused to have my pictures taken, I refused to classify customers as friends and I refused to mix personal life and my business together. HOWEVER, over the months I have grown to 'let loose' and found new friends and also well, unknowingly invited 'mess' into my life. Dont get me wrong. I love ALL my customers and I think we are super blessed with such wonderful people. The problem starts when my customers download their emotional stress and pressure to me, I actually bring them home and sulk for the rest the day. Mr Ling always say I am too involved in each and every 'sad story' but this is KAYDE, something that I inherited from my mum (yes, I told her tt once and she chuckled)  Of course with recent drama mania, I learnt to take thing easy, let loose and remind myself once I step into my home, I must forget the whole drama and move on. I must say I am doing well! Learning well but obviously always the hard way. :S

This blog is very clear. This is strictly a blog that only good and positive things will be recorded. No upsetting post and even there is, there must be a happy ending. I want to inspire all you readers that at the end of the day, the world still moves. I hope you girls will enjoy the ride with me and understand me better as a person and not as KAYLENE's owner (there is a hugeee difference and I will highlight in future)

 LOOK at the colours! Will you dare to wear? I am actually super inspired by the colours! :) now tell me, will you fancy such colours? Will the true fashionista please stand up? I once got a comment on a customer who saw my super colour clash blouse which we designed. She told me it was awful and tasteless and why in the world will I 'design something so hideous' Well, I took the feedback seriously but I must say I have no regrets. Fashion is a very unique thing. I cant please all. But judging from the number of pieces sold for the 'hideous blouse' I would say she happen to fall under the minority side :) I have so many ideas suddenly ooh gotta go now!
